About WebP2JPG.pro
WebP2JPG.pro is a small, independent image converter that works in your browser. It started from an everyday annoyance: you save a picture from a website, it turns out to be a WebP file, and the app or upload form you need refuses it. The usual fix is an online converter that uploads your picture to a stranger's server, puts you in a queue and limits how many files you can convert. We wanted something faster and more private.
Why WebP2JPG.pro exists
WebP is a good format for websites, and more and more images on the web are served as WebP. But plenty of software, devices and services still expect JPG or PNG. Converting should be a two-second job: drop the file, get a JPG. WebP2JPG.pro is built around that. The converter is the first thing on the page, it handles one image or a folder of hundreds, and it never asks you to sign up.
What the tools do
Each page converts to one format and explains when to use it. The main page converts WebP to JPG, the best choice for photos. The WebP to PNG page keeps transparency and is the better choice for logos, screenshots and graphics. Both take any number of files, can resize them, and let you download each result or a ZIP of everything.
How the conversion works
Modern browsers can already decode WebP images and encode JPG and PNG. The converter uses those built-in capabilities: it reads your file locally, decodes it, draws it at the size you chose, and encodes the result. Big batches run in background threads (Web Workers) so the page stays responsive. When you ask to keep EXIF metadata, it is copied from the WebP container into the JPG file directly. No image data is ever sent over the network.
What it does not do
- It does not upload, store or look at your images.
- It does not add watermarks or limit the number of files.
- It keeps only the first frame of an animated WebP, because JPG and PNG files made here hold a single image.
- It cannot convert images larger than your browser allows; the page tells you when that happens and suggests a smaller output size.
Supported browsers and devices
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Brave on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPhone, iPad and Android. Safari needs version 14 or later to open WebP. On phones, very large photos may need the Resize option because mobile browsers allow smaller canvases.
How WebP2JPG.pro is funded
The converters are free and will stay free. The site may show a small number of ads to pay for hosting and development. Ads never cover the converter, and nothing about your images is ever used for advertising, because your images never leave your browser.
